Frequently Asked Questions

Camp Fire at Night

Are Pets Allowed?
Unfortunately our lease provider does not allow us to have pets on site. Which includes cats, hamsters, reptiles, etc.

What do I Need to Bring?
We provide your tent,  all of the bedding, linens, pillows, and decorative accents to your tent. There is also electricity at each site for interior lighting and charging phones. Please note that electric heaters and Keurig style coffee machines are not allowed. They will trip the fuse to multiple tents.  Outside, we provide a charcoal grill (you provide the charcoal), a fire-pit,  zero gravity chairs to sit around the fire, a picnic table with canopy, decking, and tiki torches. We recommend that you bring a flashlight, towels, a cooler for your food/beverages (ice for sale on property), and any utensils or cookware that you need. There is a camp store on the property for you to buy ice, wood, charcoal, and other basic needs. There are grocery stores and butcher shops just minutes from the property. Check the forecast before leaving. Nights can get chilly. If you get cold easy it can't hurt to bring an extra blanket or sleeping bag for your bed.

How many guests can stay in a tent?

We offer 4 different setups in our tents. They are either furnished with 1, 2, 3 or 4 queens beds. Which will accommodate 2, 4,  6 or 8 adults or children per tent. If the number in your party exceeds the allotted number of guests, we kindly ask that you select the next option or reserve an additional site.

What is the minimum required stay?
We require a 2 night minimum stay for all reservations. It is too labor intensive for our staff to allow 1 night reservations. Our booking site will not allow you to make a reservation without choosing 2 consecutive nights of stay.

What time is Check In/Check Out?
Official check in time is at 3 pm to 10 pm daily. Official check out time is at 11am, but we try arrange for late check out times whenever possible. If we do have a guest checking in behind you and are not able to provide a late check out, you are welcome to stay on property until 4 pm on the day of checkout to enjoy the resort amenities.

Can I smoke in my tent?

Smoking in our tents is prohibited. We also ask that smoking is done in the designated areas of the campground for the health and safety of the other guests staying with us. If there are signs or damages of smoking in the tents, a cleaning and/or repair fee with be applied to the card on file at your site.

Where are We Located?
We are set up at the Warren County Fairgrounds in Warrensburg, NY. just 7 minutes from the Village of Lake George, NY. We are centrally located to many area attractions, hiking, restaurants, and more. Our location is just 3 minutes to the Town of Warrensburg offering many businesses as a convenience.

What are Quiet Hours?
Just like any other campground quiet hours are from 11 pm to 8 am and music on your site must only be audible to your site at all times. Music after 11 pm on your site is not allowed as it may wake neighboring guests. We do enforce the quiet hours and will not allow any noise that can impact the quality of stay of other guests on property. Please make sure your group understands this before booking a site.

Are there restrooms and showers available?
The fairgrounds has very nice restroom facilities that are maintained by our staff. We have a custom built shower trailer with 8 private showers available for your use.

We are a seasonal business and have limited resources to staff reservation phone lines at all times. We get hundreds of inquiries a day during our season and it may take us a day or two to respond to submitted questions. We apologize in advance and will do our best to get back to your submitted messages. Phone calls can be directed to 518-600-1026. Emails can be sent to Stay@adirondacksafari.com

What to expect on your trip to Adirondack Safari?
Camping here is a different type of experience. Unlike traditional campgrounds in the Northeast we set up our camp in a field. This is a popular method of camping in Europe but rather new to the U.S.  Because we have a large parcel of land we can spread out our tents for privacy. Don't be scared to try something new, field camping works and is just as fun! Part of the experience of camping also includes potential for rain! Our tents are waterproof and we provide outdoor shelter at your site also so no worries, but please understand it' s all part of the experience. Please understand weather is out of our control and activities or performances can sometimes be affected. We do not provide refunds due to weather related issues. The Lake George region is bountiful with activities and entertainment. Please stop by the store during your stay, and we will be happy to provide suggestions for alternative ideas when poor weather plays a factor during your stay.

Why do we charge so much for a tent rental?
Glamorous camping known as "Glamping" requires expensive equipment, is very labor intensive for our staff, and has a short season in the Northeast. Combine these factors and we have no choice but to charge appropriate rates to offset these expenses. We acknowledge it's a labor of love more than a way to make money. With that said, keep in mind we do what we can to control costs and keep rates low but we can only lose so much money if we want to stay operational. If Glamping does not fit your budget we recommend traditional camping at many area campgrounds.

What type of guests come to Adirondack Safari?
Our camp attracts all demographics from the Northeast. Families, couples, groups, and even singles, come to our camp each looking for a different experience. Our camp is appropriate for all age groups. Weekends sell out quickly and you will see a more vibrant crowd while weekdays are quieter.

What type of rentals do you offer other than tents?
We have golf carts ($90 daily), kayaks ($15 half day) available for rent. All rentals are on a first come first serve basis and can be booked at check in or during your stay.  Individual river tubes are available at no charge.

Do we sell food or coffee?
We do have some snack type items and soft drinks in our store such as, soda, water, sunscreen, Advil, and feminine products- but, do not have a health department permit to prepare or serve food. Our guest generally bring a cooler with food to cook at their site using the supplied charcoal grills. We do sell ice to keep your coolers cold. Grocery stores are available just minutes away. Coffee is available on site for purchase after 8:00 am at our camp store. We do have propane coffee makers for rent. However, be prepared to cook or visit local restaurants.

How are sites assigned?
When you make a reservation at Adirondack Safari you are booking your tent type only, with the tent "site" being assigned at check in. We do this because we often have tents we have to remove from inventory for many reasons including maintenance, special cleaning, leaks, etc. Rather than set an expectation for where your tent is located we do our best at check in to place you at an appropriate site that has the tent size you booked.

How is my credit card charged when I book?
A deposit of 100% of your reservation is due immediately. We do not work with 3rd party booking sites. Reservations can only be made on our website. When making your reservation, our system will ask for your credit card information. If we have a problem processing your card we will contact you via the contact information you provided at booking.  It is imperative that you communicate with us in the event of a declined card or your reservation may be cancelled. Deposits will only be refunded if a cancellation is made at least 10 days prior to check in date.

What is the cancellation policy?
We require 10 days notice to refund any payments made on your reservation. To cancel a reservation please email us at Tentsafaris@gmail.com at least 10 days prior to check in date. Please include your reservation information which includes the name on the reservation and the confirmation #. We will refund any payments made on your card within 3 business days. We realize weather can play a big part of your stay. Our tents are waterproof and you will remain dry when inside them. There are also plenty of activities to do around the area when inclement weather were to affect your trip. With that said, we do not offer a refund for weather related issues or concerns.

Are you hiring?
It seems we are always looking for housekeeping help. If you are a hard worker and may be interested contact us with your info and we will reach out to you. If you have the ability to stay on site with us this summer, even better.
